Denial begins with distance, with the instinct to reject what feels too real to face. Even as something familiar lingers, something that should not still be there, the mind reshapes it into something easier to accept. The cracks form quickly, and beneath it all is the quiet realization that the truth was never gone, only avoided.
Act II

Prayers in the Darkness

Anger
When denial breaks, grief turns outward. Questions sharpen, searching for something to blame, something to hold responsible. Memories stop sitting quietly and begin to demand attention, replaying without resolution as words spill into the dark, unanswered and unrelenting.
